A client came in recently convinced she wanted wood cabinetry for her new kitchen.
But as we started looking through her inspiration photos together, a pattern appeared. Every image she saved had the same soft neutral matte finish.
So I asked her:
“Are you sure it’s wood you love… or is it actually this look?”
It turns out, she did love the soft matte aesthetic. What she didn’t love was the idea of chipping paint. A friend’s painted MDF kitchen was already showing wear after only a few years and she didn’t want the stress of worrying about durability long term.
